An automatic electric flat car is an unmanned automatically operated electric transfer trolley. Fitted with an onboard control system, it conducts wireless communication with workshop sensors and ground control stations to realize automatic fixed-point start and stop, with positioning accuracy reaching 2–5 mm.

The trackless AGV flat cart requires no rail laying or ground reconstruction to keep the floor intact. Adopting magnetic strip navigation, its traveling deviation is controlled within 2 mm. Two traveling modes are available for selection: one-way traveling (180° turning for return travel at the terminal) and two-way direct reversing (dual-head running without turning around).
